Henry Radiation Oncology Center (HROC) was honored to participate in the Henry County Relay For Life. The HROC team members did an outstanding job of raising $1668.00 through bake sales and donations from friends, family and patients. The Henry Relay event was held on April 29^th at Ola High School where well over 1000 people attended a memorable and fun-filled night. Watching some of our patients participate in the Survivor Walk was very moving. I would like to thank our team members Dr. Kim Vu, Chantal Wynn, Cathy Sweeney, Susan Huff, Verna Lewandowski, Natlie Ducille and Stephanie Obert for making our first Relay fundraiser so successful. I would also like to thank Cathy’s boyfriend, Luke, for carrying our sign during the walk at the event, Susan’s daughters Madison and Samantha and Cathy Speir for all their hard work helping distribute over 100 Patient Resource Cancer Guides, bracelets and HROC brochures. To date Henry County teams have raised over $367,779 for Relay.

Henry Radiation Oncology Center’s first patient underwent treatment on Monday, July 12 successfully bringing radiation therapy to Henry County.

Expanding on its commitment to healthcare in a growing community, Henry Medical Center in a joint venture with Radiation Oncology Services broke ground on a new, freestanding outpatient radiation oncology center in June 2009. The 10,000 square foot building located on Henry Medical Center’s main campus is home to state-of-the-art technology including the Elekta Synergy® linear accelerator, Philips Pinnacle® Treatment Planning System, Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) and electronic medical records.

Services at Henry Radiation Oncology Center are provided by the highly trained and experienced physicians and staff of Riverdale-based Radiation Oncology Services including board-certified radiation oncologists and medical physicists, certified medical dosimetrists and radiation therapists, oncology nurses and support staff.

Patients seeking treatment at Henry Radiation Oncology Center will not only have access to cutting edge treatments but also private patient dressing rooms, spacious exam rooms, a patient and family conference room, comfortable waiting areas and convenient parking.
